Balboa Tap House

Found this little gem the other day, Balboa Tap House. A family owned business that opened almost 5 years ago. It’s a really cool place and 5 out of the 6 brothers are are Liverpool fans. So naturally I had to pop in. Two of the brothers, Rony & Ricky were there. Rony is a die hard supporter, but Ricky supports Tottenham. (I won’t hold it against him and did buy me a pint of cider which was delicious). Rony also gave me one of their shirts that perfectly blends Liverpool FC and Balboa Tap House together.

I arrived at almost 5pm and their regulars where there enjoying each other’s company and the beer selection on tap. Everyone was so welcoming and Rony was over the moon that I was a Liverpool supporter. I loved their slogan “You”ll Never Drink Alone”, a play on words from Liverpool Football Club ‘s motto “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

The owners of Balboa Tap House are huge Liverpool fans.

The Balboa Tap House feature 32 rotating beer taps, as well as a full selection of bottles & specialty brews. I also noticed quite a collection of wine that I plan on exploring in the near future. It’s a neighborhood sports bar that the locals love coming to watch their games. Of course if Liverpool is playing on a weekday afternoon, you know that it’s on the flat screens in the bar. They have several different flags and scarves hanging from the ceiling and I brought them a new addition to hang with pride.

Thanks for the hospitality gentlemen, I will definitely be back to watch some footy and enjoy the food, drink and the company soon. If you’re in the Clairemont of San Diego, you should definitely check it out.
